What we’re all about
Real, person-centered yoga
Yoga is more than physical movement. It’s an ancient practice that weaves together mind, body, and breath, helping you release what you’ve been taught to be and reconnect with who you really are.
At Samata Yoga Studio, every practice is thoughtfully designed to guide you back to your true nature, honoring the depth and wisdom of these teachings.
The word Samata means “balance” or “equanimity” in Sanskrit, and we aim to nurture that sense of inner harmony — both on and off the mat.
A space rooted in love
Samata Yoga Studio is a space where intention meets warmth, designed to help you feel held the moment you walk in. The walls and ceilings are rich with texture, wrapped in reclaimed wood sourced from Pennsylvania farms. Every detail in the room has been purposefully and lovingly chosen.
We provide a full set of supportive props for your practice, including blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps from Jade Yoga, known for their high performance and eco-conscious design. Mats are complimentary for members and available to rent for non-members.
Our studio is non-heated, but always comfortably warm. We value cleanliness and care so please be sure to wipe down and return the props as you found them.
More than a studio
A partner in your practice
Have you ever been in a yoga class and felt like something just didn’t click? Or wished you had the space to ask questions and explore your practice on a deeper level? That’s exactly why we offer monthly private discussions to all of our members.
These one-on-one sessions are designed to help you deepen your understanding, refine your alignment, and feel more connected to your practice. Whether you're working through a challenge or simply want guidance, we're here for you.
Private discussions can be booked through Momence and held either in person or online. It’s up to you to schedule your session and we encourage you to take advantage of this time.
Words from our community
“A beautiful studio offering meditative classes with a focus on breathing, alignment, and the finer points of yoga postures. After taking years of hot vinyasa and 26 classes, I've found a new appreciation and depth to my yoga practice. I highly recommend checking out this studio if you are looking for a more introspective practice, but still a great workout.”

Samata Yoga Studio was intentionally designed to support presence, stillness, and deep inner connection. Every element of the space has been lovingly chosen to foster meditation and minimize distractions, from the reclaimed wood walls to the natural textures and soft lighting.
We keep our space non-heated — warm but comfortable, so you can focus on your breath and body without overstimulation. You won’t hear music with lyrics in our classes, just simple sounds (or silence) that support your ability to tune inward.
It’s a calm, grounded environment where you’re encouraged to show up just as you are.

Wear something comfortable that you can move freely in — think soft, breathable clothing. For yin classes, it can be nice to dress in layers so you can adjust as your body warms up or cools down.
Yoga practiced barefoot so there’s no need for shoes once you’ve entered the studio space.
